A picture book in the grand tradition of ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ – my own favourite as a kid. Like ‘Wild Things’, the words and pictures work seamlessly together, so children are doubly hooked when it’s read to them. Our very-nearly-Year-3 twins, who pick up picture books less often these days, were entranced and wanted it again (in between Narnia and Gangsta Granny). Also, it makes it OK to talk about low moods in the same way ‘Wild Things’ made it OK to talk about mad and bad moods.

ps: Sarah LOVES the illustrations (and she’s very particular!!). She wanted me to mention that.
pps: I will be reviewing children’s books on a more regular basis, so watch this space. In the meantime, check out the BOOKS shop.
