The leaves on our chestnut tree have begun to turn; a sure sign that Autumn is on the way, but we’re not ready to think about jeans and jumpers just yet. So for that in between stage, before the temperature drops to single digits, we’ll be dressing the boys in a long sleeve top and lightweight trousers such as these from The Animals Observatory (this cool brand is definitely worth a look if you haven’t come across it).  I just can’t decide whether to buy the blue/grey or the khaki ones?  This Gap jacket is a another great transitional piece (with definite mummy mini-me potential). It’s quite thin, so good for layering and I love that it has a hood hidden in the collar (I’d say that the sizing is quite generous – I bought XS for Bailey). If you can’t bring yourself to pack away summer sandals just yet, they would still work well with this outfit, but for those of you who have children with a name that begins with the letter ‘M’ (like, er Marlow for example, although we love them for girls too) these trainers would be a great way to ease back into shoes…
