Jumpsuits Are Here To Stay

For me, the allure of the jumpsuit is still strong. Years ago I never imagined that it would one day become my favourite ‘go to’ item in my wardrobe – for pretty much any occasion. I love a jumpsuit in the Summer with flat sandals (preferably tan – I know, I’m nothing if not predictable…) or ballet flats; in Winter with boots or hi-tops; and for evening all year round with a high, sexy sandal (I recently bought these – they look way more expensive than they are). I challenge you to find an occasion where a jumpsuit won’t work? Except perhaps  a ‘black tie’ event? But even then, there are some beautiful hi-ind. dressy versions…). My favourites generally have long sleeves (I like to roll them up) and no belt – the ‘boiler’ style is my favourite (just don’t go too big and baggy!), and I like to roll up the legs a little too. Anyway, have seen a few great ones around (this has been such a long-standing trend that I think the jumpsuit may even be about to nudge into ‘wardrobe staples’?).
Also, I know it’s obvious, but there is just something so pleasing about being all ‘tucked in’ – no AWOL flesh accidentally on show. Yes, the whole loo thing is slightly annoying, but you just have to get over it. Nothing’s perfect after all!

ps: a slightly different vibe, but how gorgeous would this one look in the Summer with (yes, you’ve guessed it) tan flat sandals. Love it.

pps: also, don’t ever think that jumpsuits are only for the tall and skinny. Not so. I think they can be super-flattering. You may just need to kiss a few frogs before finding your prince that’s all (and to be honest, the same goes whatever size you are pretty much – it’s all abut finding the one with the right proportions for your shape). I love this one, this one and this one. And Next go up to a size 22 in most things, plus have different leg lengths –  always useful!

ppps: this shot of Giselle makes me want my old hair back…
