Dream Dress

For me this is a bit of a ‘dream dress’. I just love it, and I’ve been really excited to share it with you properly (as opposed to hanging on the wall in Tuscany on Instagram). This is the first time I’ve worn it, and then it’s second (proper) outing will be to a family wedding on Sunday. I also know I will wear it time and time again – perfect for parties (in Winter or Summer and of pretty much any description), christenings – pretty much any occasion where you want to dress up a bit, and feel a bit more special really. I love it with heels (particularly as it’s quite long on me), but it would look great with Converse, trainers or hi-tops for a more ‘everyday’ look.
So a little bit about why I love it so much (whilst trying not to sound too much like a press release!! I bought this dress, so no obligation to ‘sell’ it to you, other than I think many of you will love it as much as I do…). When you wear it it feels gorgeous and ‘wafty’ and floaty, but it also has quite a heavy ‘weight’ to it, which makes it move in such a lovely way, plus it doesn’t feel like a gust of wind will blow it up over your head (never a good look at any sort of party…); it covers most bits that I don’t like (namely the tops of my arms, but if you like yours, this is the equally dreamy sleeveless version), but still feels sexy because of the sheerness in all the right places and the subtle asymmetric hem; it’s the perfect mix of romantic and cool (classic florals, frills and graphic stripes – this is the genius of a Preen dress). It has a thick, elasticated waistband which you can either wear more on your waist or lower on your hips (I went for the latter – more of a Preen signature silhouette, and to me, more modern) which can adjust the dress length accordingly; plus an asymmetrical hemline (but not that obvious, which I like – not too ‘statement-y’). Anyway, I loved wearing it, and can’t wait to wear it ago. And no, it’s not a cheap dress, what you know what? I would rather have one, amazing dress that makes me feel great, than five or six cheaper ones that make me feel ‘ok’.

ps: The Outnet is always worth checking for both discounted Preen Line and the Preen main line (Preen by Thornton Bregazzi), as they often have some great bargains. I always try to share when I’m alerted to a new ‘drop’ of any of my favourite designers on there. As you probably already know, it’s great for Issy bargains too.

pps: I also love this Preen Line dress. It’s the same shape as mine.
