Nothing (in the slightest bit) new about the trusty army jacket. In fact, it’s almost become a fashion cliché. And this is certainly not my first post about them, and I doubt it will be my last. But, it’s also one of the hardest working, and most worn pieces in my wardrobe; and one that doesn’t have to cost a lot at all. In fact, my favourites (yes, I have more then one…) are from Gap, Topshop (I am also counting shackets for the sake of this post) and H&M. And I get so many questions about mine, and where to buy the best ones from, that I have interrupted my (very loose, admittedly!) posting schedule to bring you my current favourites. I have included some great mens’ ones too, as my current most worn one is Gap men’s from last year. I like that, generally, they are a longer fit. Gap no longer seem to have it sadly, but the one above is on my current Wish List. I love the added detail of a belt.
Anyway, if you don’t already own one, you really should. Whenever I’m dressed and about to leave the house, but suddenly feel a bit ‘wrong’ in my my outfit, the first thing I do is to ditch my coat/jacket for one of my army jackets. They have a funny way of instantly making my outfit feel more ‘me’; more relaxed; and a little ‘cooler’ somehow.
Amen to that.
ps:also love this parka (in khaki).
