If you don’t know her clothes, you will almost certainly know her. Anine (pronounced a-nina) Bing is a VERY Instagram/Pinterest-friendly, beautiful L.A based designer (originally from Denmark), who makes you want everything she’s wearing. I fact, she is often referenced at outfitting meetings at various brands I work with. She is also my current ‘hair guru’. So once I loved the hair (it doesn’t hurt that she’s drop-dead gorgeous either – she is definitely the best model wearing her designs!), I started discovering and loving the clothes too (pretty much anything you see her wearing, you can buy, as she lives in her own designs. A simple, but very effective marketing tool). She seems to like/design most of the things I like (lots of denim, faded band/logo tees, khaki shirts/jackets, leather, and a touch of leopard here and there. Think cool, effortless, sexy, rock & roll tomboy… I have the Stevie boots (obsessed!!) – they look fab with cropped jeans; and this tee.
She has also recently added kidswear to brand. Everything I love about the womens collection, but for the minis. My favourites include the gorgeous Skylar sleep sets (they come in leopard, stripe, oatmeal and grey); the Ziggy joggers (Marlow has these and loves them – they have the all-import drop-crotch that we love); and the Roxy dress (so cute). I like that the designs cleverly echo the main line, but they aren’t necessarily exact ‘mini me’ duplicates.
Anine Bing is admittedly, not the cheapest, but if you choose wisely her pieces can definitely add a little cool extra ‘something’ to your wardrobe that won’t scream or shout, always a good thing in my book.
