So the weather is starting to change. Gradually. I have completely ditched my full-on long Winter coat, and am looking more to my trusty peacoat, army jacket, boyfriend style chunky cardigan (I like this one too), and shacket. But another option that I’ve been getting quite into is (drumroll…) – just wearing a chunky knit and ditching a jacket altogether. And so far it’s working out pretty well for me I have to say. I have been wearing my chunky over-sized cable knit a lot (I love it with a skinnier, cropped jean with just the tiniest of half-tucks (it needs it – chunky and oversized is nobody friend if just left loose and to its own devices). And I’m also liking the idea of layering it under a pared-down, sleeveless jumpsuit (a modern update of my previous favourite, the black dungaree), as seen at Joseph and Mango ( I LOVE this Mango one – cool and pretty) above. So I’ll be giving this a whirl. Watch this space…
ps: as this post is partially inspired by Nicky (she loved a jumper and no coat situation, even in the depths of winter!), I will add some of her favourite cosy thermals as layering options for those of you who still might feel it’s a bit early to ditch your jackets… Try this, this or this. We’re both big fans of them all!
ps: if the idea of layering of chunkier knit scares you a little (excess inches), just stick to our favourite mens cashmere crew-necks. I layer mine under/over things all the time.
