For this month’s Amazon post, I wanted to share a few festive ideas with you. Not just gifts (more of those later…), but some outfit inspiration too. I’ve picked three quite different, but all very ‘me’ outfits – something cool and cosy, something pretty (mixed with something masculine, of course), and something more tailored. All festive bases covered. Who knows whether I will actually get to wear them out anywhere (hello Tier 3…), but at least I’m fully prepared for any eventuality!
First up, a great tuxe jacket in off-white. As well as a full tuxedo trouser suit (I already have one of those in my wardrobe), I also love to wear a chic tuxe with jean and heels. It’s that ‘dressed up but not too dressed up’ style that I love.
Next up, is this Debbie-Harry-meets-Minnie-The-Minx striped sweater. I sized up (as always) for a slouchier fit, and have been wearing it loads (jumpers and jeans are definitely my Winter go-to outfit). It’s so cosy. I’ve styled it two ways here – one with ballet flats (these are SO good. In fact, a friend of mine, a fashion designer (who works with a VERY famous fashion designer) saw me wearing them and asked if they were The Row… True story) and leggings (yep, actual leggings! Spanx leggings!) for a sort of ‘Beatnik chic/WFH look’; and one with my trusty Levi’s and slouch boots (these aren’t the ones I’m wearing here, but I do also have these and they’re fab).
I also like the idea of the jumper and leggings combo with my trusty Dr Martens Flora boots (which I literally LIVE in, as you probably already know).
Finally, this dream of a dress really reminded me of some signature Lanvin dresses, from back in the day. True romance! I LOVE tulle, and the little grosgrain bow belt is such a chic/sweet detail, and perhaps one you might not be expecting from an Amazon purchase? It would also look great worn with chunky boots and a heavy knit chucked over. In hindsight it also may have looked better with a slightly longer slip underneath (sack the stylist! It does actually come with its own (longer!) slip, which I swapped out for my own), but never mind…
It also comes in this champagne colour if you don’t fancy the black. Super-chic.
Happy shopping and Merry Christmas!
