Independent Fashion Brands To Know And Love

We all want to support small, independent businesses/brands, now more than ever, so here are some of my personal favourites.  If you have the time (or fancy escaping from the home schooling/cleaning/endless laundry/have just got in from a tough day at work/just need half an hour alone) – pour yourself a drink, and have a little online browse… Obviously there are so many more lovely brands that are not included here, but for this particular post I decided to just focus on the smaller ones, and in particular the smaller brands I know (and love obviously – that goes without saying) personally and have worked with or had first-hand experiences with/shopped from/wear. I will then try and do another post, encorporating others that I haven’t included this time. To be honest, this has been the reason I haven’t published this sooner – I was so worried about not being able to include everyone, and didn’t want to offend anyone or seem to not be being supportive.
I am also planning a independent interiors brands post too. So stay tuned for that. In the meantime, I’m certain you’ll find plenty of inspiration for lockdown and beyond.
But above all, stay safe.

Sarah xx

ps: if you missed this, and you have little ones, maybe fix yourself two drinks!

A Piedi
THE prettiest shoes and sandals; my favourites featuring gorgeous bows of various sizes and fabrics. A Peidi was launched out of a desire for a line of shoes that are as elegant as they are effortless. I love these.

Aurum & Grey
Beautiful, simple, delicate jewellery, with their most popular pieces featuring tiny letters and initials.
I love these.

Born In The Sun
Inspired by their favourite (hair) style icons (Bardot, Deneuve etc.) and how they dressed/accessorised their hair, their signature bows are next-level gorgeous.
I love this.

Calf & Co
This LS favourite personalised gifting brand also does the best monogrammed classic grey sweatshirts for adults (with ‘mini me’ options too).
I love these.

Faune
Their beautiful vintage-inspired children’s nightwear/dress collection is about to size-up to the dreamiest women’s collection. And I promise you, you’re going to LOVE it.
I love the ‘Laurel’ dress (coming soon!).

Honna
Gorgeous, classic striped pyjamas that combine exceptional fit and an affordable price point, designed by a lovely ex-Stylist.
I love  (and have) these.

Johanna Sands
Some of the most coveted dresses on Instragam. Luxurious, chic, minimal, feminine, uniquely designed, and very special; each dress is handmade from premium linen fabrics.
I love this.

Justine Tabak
Her designs (my favourites are her dresses) are simple and easy to wear, often inspired by vintage finds, but with the ease of modern cut, shape and fabric. Pieces to cherish and wear time and again. In keeping with the British weather, clothes are cleverly transeasonal.
I love this.

Loel & Co
They travel all over Italy hunting for unique, beautiful handmade jewellery.  Their ethos is simple – to choose jewellery they themselves would love to wear. And you will too.
I love (and have) this.

Maison M
Passionate about treasure hunting and artisanal craftsmanship, the idea to form Maison M was a simple one, born of the desire to offer a collection of beautiful and unique pieces both old and new.  Their bags are among some of my personal favourites ever.
I love (and have) this.

Nanou
Trekking sandals never looked so pretty! Think Liberty floral/paisley prints, polka  dots, and bows. Pretty cool (and comfortable!).
I love these.

Navygrey
Inspired by borrowed and beloved jumpers of their past, they are committed to creating knitwear that can be worn again and again and again. Because when a knit brings you happiness, it’s so much more than just a jumper. This is a brand I have worked very closely with as a Stylist and Art Director. The best navy crewneck you’ll find.
I love (and have) this.

September Beads
Handmade beaded charm-style bracelets, perfect for stacking. Choose your combination of words/names, beads, shells, coins and ribbons. The perfect summer wrist candy.
I love (and have) this.

Seraphina
Seraphina offers a fresh take on resort and loungewear, using beautiful  Indian fabrics (linens, silks, cotton voiles, seersuckers, and block and screen prints). With a particular emphasis on their ‘Mini Me’ styles for mothers and daughters, the collections are conceived with holidays in mind, but work just as well in an English country garden as they do in the city.
I love this.

Theodora Ware
Specialising in eclectic semi-precious jewellery with a bohemian spirit, Warre splits her time between her London home and Jaipur, the latter being an enduring source of inspiration for her colourful designs.
I love these.

Wyse
A design ethos that is ‘less is more’, but always with a little twist – elegant, but always with unexpected details. Every piece of luxury cashmere has a detail a lurex thread, sequins, metallic, leather or a pop of colour.
I love these.

Independent Boutiques

Feather & Fitch
My local boutique, in Richmond.  Always worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Iris
Probably my favourite boutique in London (and they have stores all over the city). All my favourite brands in one place, as well as their own gorgeous label, By Iris.

Trouva
A great online resource for smaller, independent fashion brands. More of them later in the independent interiors brands post.
