Today we’re bringing you a small selection of things that I either already own, or would like to own/am planning to own. I like a bit of a mash-up of textiles, and fabrics, but I generally like things quite tonal in my home. It’s quite small and we have a LOT of books, pictures, records (an entire wall dedicated to Tom’s vinyl collection!) and general ‘stuff’ that we’ve collected from our travels over the years covering all the walls and surfaces. So I like the rest of the house to be a bit visually ‘quieter’ somehow. But not in a dull ‘beige’ way (well I hope not anyway).
As I’m sure you’re already aware, I am a huge fan of baskets in the home. You can never have too many as far as I’m concerned (let’s not involve Tom in this though, as he’s not necessarily with me on this…). I (er, we) use them to store anything and everything, from shoes (we have a total of three shoe baskets) to toys, to laundry to loo rolls. I literally have a basket for everything. My current favourites include these (who says size doesn’t matter? Not me!), these and these. I also have sheepskins everywhere – on the sofas and on the kids beds. I love how they instantly ‘cosy things up’.
Nicky and I also both love (and have) the Brittany collection at The White Company. The throw is great on the bed, and I also have a couple of the cushions on my sofas. It’s all about the teeny-tiny pom poms. Neutral, but pretty, but not too pretty. I love that the throw is reversible so I swap it over depending on what bedlinen I have that particular week. I like to live on the edge.
ps: don’t forget that whopping 40% off at La Redoute ladies. Too good to miss! But hurry, it ends at midnight tonight (Tuesday)!!
pps: and if my style isn’t for you, worry not, Nicky will be sharing Bailey’s room and some of her interiors selects later in the week. We may have the same taste in clothes, but when it comes to our homes, we’re very different!
